About Me
Hello! Welcome to my class! I am so excited to work with you this year. We are going to work hard and have a lot of fun along the way! This year I am teaching IGCSE Physics, AS Physics, and Advanced STEM.
I grew up in Arizona and then moved to Utah for college. I graduated from Brigham Young University with a degree in Applied Physics with an emphasis in Secondary Education and a minor in Mathematics. I am also currently finishing my Master in Natural Science degree through ASU. This is my fifth year with ASU Preparatory Academy. I also coach the ASU Prep Competitive Robotics team (FIRST Robotics).
My husband is also a physics major and is currently working towards his PhD in Physics at Arizona State University. We have a 7 year old cat named Daisy, who is the sassiest cat I have ever met.
Here are some of my favorite things:
Things I do not like:
Physics is the hardest subject I have ever taken, but is also the one I enjoy the most. I love learning about how the world works and I particularly enjoy learning about optics and acoustics. This year you will learn how your lungs work, why it hurts to step on Legos, how roller coasters work, and more! I love teaching at ASU Preparatory Academy and I am looking forward to another great year!
Please contact me at [email protected] or by completing the form on the contact tab. Students are welcome to come in and talk with me after school and by appointment during learning lab hours.
Warm regards,
--Mrs. McKeon
